Job Summary
FD Thomas is seeking a Superintendent, specifically focused on jobs in and around the PNW. This person will be someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about safety while helping to achieve goals. This person will be Responsible for the overall supervision, leadership, and coordination of construction field personnel and job scheduling for Waterproofing, below grade (water table & non water table), hot rubber, vapor mitigation system, roofing, and traffic coatings. Ensure that all work is performed skillfully and efficiently, and that work progresses on schedule. Has authority to stop work in the event of safety or quality non-conformance or hazard.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
5+ years of experience in the industry with increased responsibility
Read and understand written and verbal directions, including material safety data sheets (MSDS), procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), briefings, training, and manufacturer's instructions.
Medical clearance to wear a tight-fitting respirator as required by OSHA.
Able to speak, write, and understand English.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Successful completion of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) 10- or 30-hour construction training
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Valid Driver's license, clean driving record, vehicle insurance, reliable and legal transportation

The employee must comply with the Drug and Alcohol policy. This includes a pre-employment screening, random screening, for cause screening, and post incident/accident screening. The use/possession of alcohol or illegal drugs while at work is not acceptable and will result in disciplinary action, up to termination.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety
Act as Competent Person
Ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Enforce safety policies and procedures.
Ensure up to date and adequate HAZCOM program is in place.
Ensure Environmental Monitoring/Medical Monitoring is performed, and results reported.
Reporting results on containment effectiveness, air flow monitoring and personal hygiene.
Assist safety in achieving a zero-accident work area.
Ensure proper PPE is used in all situations.
Reward safe and productive work activities
Ensure proper barricades and signage is being used.
Monitor crews daily to ensure they are keeping a well-maintained work area.
Conduct Jobsite Safety Assessment, Trainings and Jobsite POD/JSA Meetings
Supervision
Ensure an ample supply of labor that is qualified, trained, and able to work.
Supervise working foreman, journeyman, apprentice.
Schedule work in accordance to manpower
Coordinate with other crafts
Coordinate activities of field personnel to successfully and efficiently complete multiple projects simultaneously
Assist in the recruitment, development, assignment, and evaluation of field personnel.
Ensure field personnel have proper training and credentials to perform the work.
Training
Train employees on safe work practices
Train employees on proper equipment use.
Provide mentoring to field personnel in regard to work activities, safety, and quality expectations.
Daily Toolbox meetings
New hire orientation and safety training
Quality/Production
Meet quality specifications.
Assist QC in producing a quality product.
Supply employees with the tools they need to do the job.
Eliminate rework.
Manage all job costs.
Plan of the Day
Planning/Scheduling
Plan, organize, and schedule all job site activities with the Project Leader
Meet schedules and deadline within budget.
Attending meetings with client to coordinate and schedule support activities including crane time, scaffold erection, etc.
Meet all Pre-Job, Job, and Post-Job responsibilities.
Complete all required daily & weekly reporting.
Ensure work releases from client are on file before start of job task.
Keep log of craft absenteeism
Make sure daily sign-in sheets are available to craft.
Other Responsibilities:
Use personal protective equipment including respiratory protection, hearing protection, and personal fall arrest systems.
